Job description

As an Interior Project Coordinator at Ionia in Zeist, you will oversee custom orders in natural stone, ceramics, and quartz composite from inquiry to delivery: kitchen and bathroom countertops and interior projects for kitchen specialists, bathroom retailers, interior builders, and architects.

You work 32 to 40 hours per week from the showroom and office in Zeist, spread over four or five working days, and earn €3.500 to €4.000 gross per month, depending on your experience. Dutch is not a strict requirement: if you only speak English, you can also get started here.

Candidate profile

About the feature

You stand in the showroom of a kitchen, bathroom, or tile store and advise consumers on worktops. You know what a material costs, what is and isn't technically possible, and what someone will regret later. At Ionia, you use exactly that knowledge, only now those showrooms are your client.

Ionia supplies natural stone slabs from Italy, marble, granite, and quartzite, as well as ceramics and quartz composite: custom work for kitchens, bathrooms, and interior projects, up to and including complete contract projects for hotels and museums. The collection comprises more than four hundred materials, and the showroom in Zeist serves as the catalogue for the Dutch market.

Kitchen specialists, bathroom suppliers, and interior builders come here to select materials. You oversee that order from request to delivery.

You are the internal team in Zeist. Not one of the internal staff members, but the internal team. The field team is busy with new clients, as Ionia is building a position throughout the Benelux. You ensure that everything coming in from there is correct and is where it needs to be on time. Communication lines are short, so you switch gears easily, but the hands-on work lies with you.

That is why you need to be able to read a technical drawing. Not because you do the drawing yourself, but because a cutout that does not match the thickness of the sheet costs money as soon as the order goes to production. You spot that before the customer does.

What are you going to do?

  • Process and check custom orders before they go to production.
  • Preparing and processing quotations for the field service team.
  • Receiving customers in the showroom, even when they bring their end customer along to select materials.
  • Maintain contact with customers, dealers, suppliers, and transporters.
  • Monitor project progress and delivery times.
  • Coordinating deliveries and logistics.
  • Process changes and additional project information.
  • Identifying opportunities and supporting the commercial activities of the field sales team. You are in constant communication throughout the day: with kitchen specialists, bathroom retailers, interior designers, and architects; with clients bringing their end customers to the showroom; with dealers, suppliers, and transporters; and in English with colleagues and suppliers in Italy. Internally, you work for the field sales team, which you support.

Bringing in new clients is not part of the job; that is the work of the field sales team. You work with existing relationships and with everything that comes in from them.

This helps, but is not a requirement:

    • Dutch. Not a strict requirement; English speakers are also welcome.
    • Experience with order processing, project coordination, or internal sales.
    • Affinity with interior design, design, or custom work.
    • Knowledge of natural stone, ceramics, or quartz composite. We do not require a specific educational level, and a perfect CV is not necessary. What counts is that you bring showroom experience and, furthermore, how you work. What you pick up and how you switch gears.

Terms and conditions of employment;

What do you get?

  • Salary: €3.500 – €4.000 gross per month, depending on your experience.
  • Workweek: 32 to 40 hours, over four or five working days.
  • Workplace: showroom and office in Zeist.
  • Variety: Administration, customer contact, showroom, and project management are intertwined.
  • Work: high-quality materials and exclusive projects.
  • Realm: informal, short lines of communication.
  • Education: Internal guidance, including on reading technical drawings.
  • Grow: Career advancement opportunities within a growing brand.
