For Van Hees, we are looking for a proactive Inside Sales Representative for a versatile part-time position where chemical knowledge, commercial insight, and customer focus come together. You will support existing customers, provide professional after-sales service, and actively contribute to revenue growth through relationship management, up-selling, and cross-selling.
Your role as an Inside Sales Representative
As an Inside Sales Representative, you are responsible for the commercial support and further development of existing customers. You know the customer, understand their needs, and actively contribute ideas regarding chemical products, laboratory supplies, and suitable applications.
You identify commercial opportunities and know how to translate them into concrete sales possibilities. By offering targeted complementary products and solutions, you help smaller customers grow into larger and long-lasting customer relationships.
Aftersales is an important part of your role. You actively follow up on orders and deliveries, answer substantive customer questions, and monitor agreements made. Additionally, you support the field account managers with quotations, customer information, commercial follow-up, and daily customer inquiries.
Thanks to your combination of chemical knowledge and commercial skills, you are an expert discussion partner for clients and an important link within the organization.
What are you going to do?
- Actively maintaining telephone and written contact with existing customers.
- Providing professional after-sales service and proactively following up on orders, deliveries, and customer inquiries.
- Identifying customer needs and advising on chemical products, laboratory supplies, and applications.
- Identifying and developing commercial opportunities within the existing customer base.
- Applying up-selling and cross-selling by offering relevant additional, alternative, or improved solutions.
- Drafting, sending, and actively following up on quotations.
- Converting commercial opportunities into concrete orders and revenue.
- Processing, following up on, and monitoring customer orders and deliveries.
- Informing customers about the progress of orders and agreements made.
- Supporting field account managers with commercial, administrative, and customer-oriented tasks.
- Sharing relevant customer information, commercial opportunities, and sales possibilities with the field sales team.
- Coordinating customer inquiries and orders with colleagues from production, logistics, and purchasing.
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and well-organized administration and client documentation.
Combining chemical knowledge with commercial insight
This position is a good fit for a professional who wants to combine their knowledge of chemistry and laboratory applications with customer contact and sales. You don't need to be a traditional salesperson: your substantive knowledge, commercial acumen, and ability to advise customers well make the difference.

Candidate profile
For this position, we are looking for a commercially minded and customer-oriented professional with an affinity for chemistry and laboratory technology. You take initiative, ask the right questions, and know how to translate customer needs into concrete commercial opportunities.
You are someone who:
- Thinks commercially and actively knows how to capitalize on opportunities within existing customer relationships.
- Works proactively and entrepreneurially, and does not wait for a customer to come with a question.
- Is genuinely interested in customers and enjoys thinking along about their needs and applications.
- can translate customer inquiries into suitable chemical products, laboratory supplies, and solutions.
- Enjoys advising and derives energy from building long-term client relationships.
In addition, you have:
- MBO 4 or entry-level HBO working and thinking level.
- A completed education in chemistry, laboratory technology, or a similar field, or demonstrable work experience within a laboratory environment.
- Affinity with both chemistry and commercial services.
- A proactive, result-oriented, and customer-focused work attitude.
- Good communication and commercial skills.
- The ability to independently identify and follow up on commercial opportunities.
- An accurate and structured way of working.
- An excellent command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
Experience in a similar role within internal sales, inside sales, or account support is a plus, but not a requirement. We consider chemical knowledge, commercial curiosity, and the motivation to further develop existing customers more important.
